This is a first prototype of the game Dabbawala Dash.

Dabbawala Dash is a 2D, time-pressured scooter delivery game, set on the streets of Mumbai. The objective is for players to deliver their tiffins (Indian lunchboxes) to the clients within a certain timeframe, by planning optimal routes, weaving through traffic and lane closures, and optionally risk red lights to meet delivery timelines. The game has no “death” scenario, but instead there are point deductions for late deliveries caused by slowdowns or spills, so that the play focuses on riding and optimal route planning (puzzle) for players to maximize their acquired points.

This is a first prototype, just showing the basic mechanics. Please note the following controllers to play on a traditional computer keyboard:

  • Arrows -->  navigate
  • W  --> accelerate (speeds up movement)
  • S  --> brake / slow-down (slows down movement)
  • Space  --> honk
  • Enter  --> deliver
  • Esc or P  --> pause

You can use the following if you're using a game controller:

  • Left Stick -->  navigate
  • RT  --> accelerate (speeds up movement)
  • LT  --> brake / slow-down (slows down movement)
  • X  --> honk
  • A  --> deliver
  • t  --> pause
